But personally i would not strap my mobile phone to a heli. I love the V-bars bluetooth Android app,the Expensive mobile phone stays on the ground while the helis in the air and you get a live feed.

how can the iphone measure vibration? what does it have? as far as i know... all it has is a gyro and the orientation thing? can't see how that can measure vibration

Yeah it looks good but at the end of the day you still have to Attach your Iphone to your heli So take into account the iphones price you can add some 00's to the £3.00 for the app.

Look at F1 it's all done by telemetry So i'd have a helper to read the device while i was flying, wouldn't need to look my self, Uli's been asked about logging the vibration data to view later after the flight, but live is better, you see the maneuver and see the display,
Recording for playback later you also need a video and to sync up with the analyzer playback to see what caused what.

The iphone has acceleromters to measure vibration. same as sk720.

the sk720 handles this by having an animation of your flight that runs concurrently with the vibe analysis.

I still think this would be dead useful for people without flybarless or with beastx etc. but maybe not.

I'd rather not have a £500 phone strapped to my Heli being shaken to pieces and getting covered in oil and dust. Nice idea though...

I think the iphone will be to big to mount securely to the heli tbh. Even if you could get it mounted the mass of the phone itself will change the modal response of the heli. The obvious advantage of the Vbar and 720 is that you test the heli in its natural flying state.
