  • Dreaming of the perfect 50 machine

Guys/girls ive been wonering if you could design your own 50 size machine what would it be like.
i fancy something along a mikado logo nitro.that sort of thing.
But what would you like to see designed into a 50 ?
what head/tail boom/skids/frames etc etc etc

    cheers Craig/zone

I'd go for a Velocity 50 with components made from decent quality materials!

My thought would be to buck the trend of the last few years whereby 50 class airframes and engines have been getting bigger, and
produce an airframe that is a bit smaller and lighter, running 550mm blades and intended for the OS50 Hyper or equivalent. If you
could trim the total weight down nearer to 3 kilos and keep the frame sturdy enough, with the right gearing it would be a rocket.

Bah, I'd puke everytime I saw it. Sure would fly nice though.

..it depends what you want from the machine: hard 3D (for those few who can); unboggable (for those who can't) or a cheap beater (for those who hope)

                Nitro or electric?
                esoteric: 18S 525 running on 6x2200 3S packs and with 500mm blades?
cheap beater: Already existed ..the twister pantera. That really should have done better in the market

for me it would be a model with the power to weight ratio of a ely q, ely q pitch responce, but the accuracy of a velo, but to get one of these u lose the other

Im talking about nitro, electric is already done and dusted,so many good electrics on the market.
stuff i would like to see would be

                        herringbone main gear
                        120-140 ccpm mix
frames like a logo but stronger
                        metal head/tail/but light
                        programmable head
                        header tank in the box
a different looking machine generally(i know it cant be too different)
proper push rod guides like on the better machines.
                        light weight
carbon paddles and a flybarless option.
good cooling duct and fan with curved fins on the fan.
carbon boom supports out the box.
cabron tail blades in the box.
and more if i can think lol
