  • Holding the electronics in. How do you?

OK so I'm trying to sort out my 600 to get it airworthy. Might have plenty of time to practice flying soon as the place I work have just announced a round of redundancies.

So anyway, I need to mount the ESC, RX, Satellite, and RX LiFe pack and wondered how everyone does it?

At the minute the RX JR-R921 is just velcro'd on, and then the Satellite I've used some double sided tape to hold it with the active aerial pointing upwards and then will cable tie it too. I thought about a velcro strap around the RX is that worth doing?

The esc I guess is either a cable tie or velcro strap again? On my TT360 I just used velcor on the back of the ESC and then a velcro strap around that and the RX, but now it's just held in the frame with velcro as it can't really move anywhere.

I pretty much use 2 or 3 layers of maplins double sided for everything. Make sure you don't strapover the cooling fins on the ESC. The Rx shouldn't need anything more unless you want to make absolutely sure

The velcro I've used for the RX is the heavy duty stuff I use on my Lipos, so it's probably safe enough but was just wondering if people generally strap them down as well. Sounds like I don't have to worry too much and what I'm doing is right though ta

Double sided tape and then a velcro strap.

I use foam double sided tape and a bit of extra CA to stick it well. My helis are electric so oil doesn't affect the tape but with nitros you might want to add a velcro strap (not too tight) for safety.

I can't stand picking old foam pads off stuff. Nothing seems to get it off nicely. I got some 3M 4010 double-sided clear "gel" tape off ebay because that was recommended for mounting a microbeast, but now I use it just about everything. It holds pretty well, and is removable (doesn't leave any residue).

I'm careful about using cable ties, especially near frame edges. The vibration of the heli I think helps both the frames and cable ties through insulation. Often put a bit of fuel tubing on a cable tie, or along a frame edge, to provide some protection.

Only velcro I have is around the battery (sticky velcro on the batteries plus two velcro straps). Seem to recall you'd found some great Scorpion-branded rubberised straps for that. I've never managed to pack a bundle of stuff up in velcro and be happy with the outcome, although I've seen excellent results. Must be a knack to it..

My rx on my 600 has a wee bit of velcro holding it on and a velcro strap wrapped round it just for security. My gyro has spartan gyro tape on it with a velcro strap again securing it. Everything else is mounted with gyro pads & gets changed at regular intervals because its on a nitro

Yeah I use the Scorpion straps for batteries, I've got some bigger ones for 6s packs ready for the 600.

I use Cable Accessories | Farnell United Kingdom which is the actual brand Velcro, amazing stuff. I only use straps around my batts as a precaution as I have no doubt this stuff is so strong, a batt (6s 5000) would not fall off with my flying. No Im not willing to try it out but I have to really pull to get the batts off lol

As well as double sided stuff and the odd strap

I use Velcro the sticky one that comes with your 600 for the lipo to hold all the electronics, and then use a thin align velcro strap to hold it firm, it's great if you need to remove something to check connectors etc.
