  • 9256 reliability

I'm thinking of getting one of these to use with my SL720, are they like the 9254 reliability wise?

Just want to get an idea of how other people have got on with them.

    Hi

Used them a lot for a few years now and haven't killed one yet.
They will eventually wear out, this is a gradual process and the servo just slowly looses torque so unlikely to cause a crash.

    Cheers

Cheers, so not generally like the 9254, just suddenly saying (if it could speak) "OK hotshot, deal with this, I'm out-a-here".... (tail goes nuts two foot off the deck inverted no warning)

Did you hear about the latest one that Futaba is about to release... the Futaba BLS 251 is supposed to have the specs similar to the 9256...

Those BLS servos are brushless ones.

Yeah, but they are going to cost a bomb.

They also need to be able to take 7.4 v

Not true, I do have Futaba official specs... that servo (BLS251) can't handle more than 4.8v and is JPY1000 (peanuts ) more expensive than the 9256.

FYI, GY611+servo combo will soon be delivered with the BLS251

This is just the way Futaba has decided to evolve... in a near future brushless ones will be everywhere...

Ok, the prices I saw for them a few months back was in the £170 sort of range.
