SL 720 Quick Setup?

Hi guys. Got a sl720 of one of the forum members just been getting it plugged in, but i cant seem to access the quick setup. I understand you have to repeatedly toggle the gain switch to access it but nothing seems to be happening.

Hi Liam,

You have to toggle the gain switch straight after gyro power up. If you leave it too long it wont go in.

The gain switch would be the gear channel.
You need to have the switch set so that channel goes from one end to the other during the initialisation - then it will enter quicksetup.
Your gain channel might be on another switch or somthing. you can plug a servo into it to see what its up to if you don't have a channel output display on your radio.

Yes - do it immediatlely afte you switch on or its too late

It has to toggle between HH and Rate straight after power up. My gains are linked to my Idle up switches, I don't fly around in rate so I have to set one of the flight modes to rate.

Depends on the radio and what channel you have plugged the lead into. I use a DSX9 and use the rudder DR switch which then outputs to the Aux 2 channel. if you are using a 6 channel receiver, then it is omen to use the endpoints on the gear channel to set up the two modes.

I found as well you need to do it longer than normal with 2.4g as you have to allow time for the rx to link with the tx then the gyro will start it's setup so just keep flicking the switch back and fourth longer

Good point, I always up the end points to 100% for entering the setup.

Ive got it all sorted now, thanks lads. Next problem now, i have fitted the canopy and the gyro is too high up with the plate and double sided foam tape........Stupid C**T I'am!!

Just use a single layer of foam and it'll be reet.

The four pads supplied are fairly substantial, and the Gyro itself ain't no dwarf either!
