  • "Perfect Regulators" 5V Gyro Step-down

As i've gone HV i got one of these today for the Gyro. It says 5V so assumed 5V plugged it in an no end of trouble - came home got the volt meter out and its reading 4.38v solid on the output,

    Am i missing something ?

Still not maidened yet as this stopped all play today with the random induced tail wag that i now suspect was due to the gyro\tail not having enough power.

You have a duff regulator or voltmeter or something is taking too much current or you don't have enough volts going into it. Should read between 5.0 and 5.1v both on and off load.

Well I tested via a regulator, just to receiver via a voltmeter I checked the output from the receiver and then to the receiver with the drop down so no load a completely isolated from the heli.

I've also tried voltages ranging from 5v to 6v and regardless it still reads 4.38, I'm impressed at that because if it was a resistor it would of fluctuated as the voltage increased but this looks like it's "smart" just not supplying enough voltage

      Not getting much luck recently

What's the battery voltage? looked on the website and the manuals on there don't say a lot.

Battery voltage is 7.2 direct in a hv setup but these regs are designed upto 35v apparently from what I found to provide an output of 5v, But even when input a regulator on at 6v both resulted in 4.38 from the PR reg

          Convinced it's faulty

              Mutley,

it sounds as if it may be faulty. i would suggest to send it in for replacement either to us or the place it was purchased from.
