Why dont people fill in their profile? what are they trying to hide? should it become a pre-requisite to join our little group?

I'll half sit on the fence on this one....

The only points I'd like to make is that unless people fill them out I can't :-

A: Input thier location into the weather block
B: Via the members list your able to search by location and this would be a great benefit to new starters.

Also to make it a mandatory would require some re-coding

It would be easier to make all new registration mandatory.

Nothing to hide here - except age , maybe you can bear this in mind.

Should the entering of details become mandatory then all you will get is garbage if people don't wish to give correct information. You'll have no means to validate details entered. If people wish to volunteer information as many do then it's best to leave it at that. No data is better than rubbish. Trust me on this. The number of entries in some of our databases with the date of birth as 1st Jan yyyy (pick a year, any year) is unreal.
