Do u use a BEC on ur 550E

A bit of a hijack....

Question: as mentioned, I use a cc bec pro - however, has anyone (that has one of these AND has a beastX) - connected the second power lead from the bec directly to the beastx (sys port) ie one lead to the rx and one to the beastx rather than both to the rx?

I'm reliably told that this is a good thing to do, but it would be good to know that others have done it!

Yup, one supply to the rx and one to the bx sys port here, assumed the sys port was on its supply bus, but it never occurred to me to test that

Yup, CC BEC Pro. Wired it into the same EC5 plug as the CC Ice 100 ESC - I don't think that was actually a very good idea though, the BEC wires seem to have a lot of strain on them. Will rewire it as soldered taps onto the ESCs wire I think, unless there's a better suggestion..

I'm currently building an EDF Jet with twin OPTO ESCs. To power the BEC I'm using a plug on the balance lead of the battery (which is, of course, not normally needed in flight). This gets around the problem of soldering big power cables to the same plug as the thin wires for the BEC. I got the male XT-H balance plug from an adapter cable from Giant cod costing about 60p. This means I can power up the BEC and RX and be sure all is well before powering up the ESCs and motors.

Just my $0.02 tip!
