  • Level pitch curve to make FP heli

I have a Blade 400 and a Blade mSR. My mSR is very stable and is a fixed pitch heli and the thought came to me about making my 400 equally stable. I wondered if I made the throttle curve linear from 0 to 100% but made the pitch curve a straight line across at, say, +6 degrees then I would have a fixed pitch heli. If this is practical, would that make it automatically as stable as the mSR?

    I haven't done it and probably won't, it's just a thought experiment.

    Never happy, merely less depressed.

Yanagisawa Tenor Sax (doesn't fly well though)

dont do it, it would want to take off with no headspeed, then your controlling your height with headspeed, its not good, not a good thought experiment lol

The MSR is so stable because of it's 45 degree flybar/swash layout. It's nothing to do with being fixed pitch.

Technically you could run a flat pitch curve, and choose a small enough amount of pitch so the head speed is high enough. But, the main advantages of fixed pitch helicopters are simple head design coupled with lower head speed, meaning less things break when you crash. With a blade 400, those advantages wouldn't exist and you'd effectively be making it harder to fly than easier to fly.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.
