  • Getting your 8's level

Guys, I'm on phoenix, and have been a fair bit since I got it a few days ago, I had this problem before with practicing 8's and circuits, and that is when I turn, the mode always pitches down,

Is there any tips for this, yes I know practice practice practice, as I am doing, but can't get a flat turn for the life of me

    Cheers
    Kev

I take it you mean the nose pitches down. If so you've answered your own question. If the nose is down give a nudge of back elevator. and visa versa. But you knew that anyway.
Either that or fly a coaxial

Lol, I was just wondering if I was moving it to much rudder, or if when everybody flies the nose (not mode lol) pitches down

Are you letting the cyclic stick re centre after making any corrections?

I can show you how to fly the flatish 8s at the field but explain no chance!

Choose true figure of 8s or lazy 8s........

Only lazy 8s at the moment, not true 8s

Just want them flatter than what they are, haven't done this with heli yet, may find its different, this is on phoenix

                    it's really difficult, I know...
I'd practise clockwise circles, and counterclockwise circles. Also "modified" figure 8s, where you fly each side for example three times.
It will take some effort to get into a practice routine, but then you'll progress quickly.

I wrote some tutorial on figure 8s, here:
                    Banked figure 8
and did I mention, it's not s easy

if the helis C/G is right then pitching up is thumbs.

as you turn down wind expect the heli to drop

into wind expect the heli to lift

Tried, bit find it needs constant cyclics elevator to keep the turn flatter, otherwise I just stick it in lol (no puns please)

You need to slow it down more a lot more to fast

Well yes it does need constant inputs, but I'm guessing your suffering from over correction. Try nudging in the corrections from centre rather than holding then in.
Its hard to explain really, you just need to get the feel of it.

                            Edit....
Rudder does need to be held in though, and varied slightly to keep the tail directly behind the direction of travel.

                              that sums it up nicely

starting slow is recommended, let's not endanger any trees...
