I just got a new 550 :)

Please as punch, i purchased a 2nd hand 550 today (yipppeeee) from Skipperbilly (davie).

Cant wait to see what it looks like and get it in the air.

No beastX yet, but will see what its like before i spend the extra to get one.

Although had to bribe the wife with a new car 1st though, not bad £11k car against a £500 heli, mind you i did say i would sell my 500 1st (oopppsss, seemed to have got it round the wrong way and brought a new heli before selling the old one)

What batts are you guys using for the 550?, and anything i should be aware of on a stock 550.

I use hyperion Vx 5000's with 550 blades

i flew my friends 550 yesterday ... he was using edge blades , and a voltz 5100 mah 40c pack i have got to admitt its the best heli ive ever flown

Great little heli.You can get turnigy 5000 40c from HC de for £125.

Only niggle i found was the elevator servo horn rubs on the anti rotation bracket at full collective when putting in forward elevator.Bearing in mind its not in that position much but i do like to go flat out fast forwards so i have cut some of the bracket away and problem is resolved.

Guys

Upgraded to T-Rex 600 carbon tail fin (the stock one was way too flimsy) and 600 alloy canopy posts to keep the canopy off the main gear (the stock ones were too short).

Ben - You will defo see this but not to sure about being down soon as still waiting for results on the trapped nerve x ray (which they now think is a disk problem again, as its pushing on my right hand side nervous system and causing numbness / pain in my arm from the elbow down to the hands and now cant feel my right arm from the elbow down to the fingers) so no flying for a while unless i can get an injection in the disks asap.

just cant wait to get a new RX (will a ar6200 be good enough) and some batts to try it out.

Ron, Sav has my 500 as he is kindly repairing for me, he did say his 500 was turning up today.

mine did the same,filled it away,it also hits the gearbox,putting in the mx motor today lets see what that is like
