  • 1st proper flight!!!!

I have been practising on the sim like mad past few weeks and managed to progress to a reasonably stready side on hover, I have just returned from flying at the field, 4 packs through the 450 and 2 through the 500 and managed to go from hover to side-on, forward 20m, spin 180 to other side-on and forward back to start (I'm sure theres a name but I dont know!).

I managed to do this 4 or 5 times in a row

I know its basic but I am chuffed to bits and I really feel that I AM learning to fly

Sorry if I've rambled but had to tell someone, told the mrs and she just gave me a blank look!

Well done m8, It may be a basic manoeuvre relatively speaking, but its a massive achievement none the less
Only those who have no idea how nerve racking or how difficult flying a heli actually is will fail to be impressed.

Keep on bashing away at the sim and next time your flying your heli, just pretend your flying the sim

            just p****d myself....Priceless!!

            Thanks for the support folks!

I intend to take it slow and steady, master it on the sim, then SLOWLY try it for real

I can nose in on the sim but not quite for real yet, still after today I have a bit more confidence and am hoping to have an hour free to try again tomorrow

              Great feeling isn't it.
When you use the SIM try your best not to crash. If you get used to crashing on that then you won't get the moves right for real.
Always plan an escape move and perfect that before trying something new.
Good luck tomorrow and the rest of your flying time.
