Align Servos

Genuinely.. why do people slate Align Servos? I've been checking alternatives and the Align are not just good value for money but the spec seems to be better than some servos costing twice in price?

I've had one lock on me at full deflection but other than that i run them in all my heli's ,Bar my 500 tail . There very good value for money well built and as you say are well spec'd for the price. I cant comment on the high end servo's as i can't justify buying them for the level of flying that im capable of .

Love them - my jr's are better, but you dont pick up jr's for 90 for 3!

I honestly dont think you can better a ds610 or ds620 as a cyclic for the money.

I sold my BLS351's due to the BLS range having shorter wires than normal servos (couldnt get a neat install on the 700).

Was going to buy the 8915s on here for £200, ended up getting DS610s from Elite Models..

They are good and I have used them many times.

The tail servos I have always found pants (not tried 650) compared to the others I use but cyclic wise they work absolutely fine.

They are Savox servos.

I know what you mean - I have 610's/620 on my 550 and 510's on both of my 500's - although I do use futaba tail servos (9257's) for the tail on both 500's but only because I already had them. I've not had any issues so far, apart from the plastic gears which give up the ghost fairly easily, but hey, no real issue as I'd rather sacrifice them than something more expensive and they are a dead easy fix.

The only one's that I've avoided are the 410's for my 450 size heli's as they aren't really that great especially when compared to the bashing my HS65mg's can take.

I agree... it does seem like you have to spend way more money to get even a tiny improvement in specs over Align DS610's. Great servos I reckon.

MMM The DS610 seems pretty solid to me, but I am not a "high end" flyer!!!! I have had 410s on my 450 for over 2 years now, without a problem, but maybe I have been lucky.............

i think theyre wicked, as i said a few days in another post, never had a problem with them, love the speed and torque, trust them all the way when im flying them

the full sized servos are great, although i have had one ds610 failure.

i also use the 510s on the 500, other than the gears stripping in every crash they are pretty good value too.

I nearly exclusively use Align servos,just my Logos have Hitecs,The 610,s and 650 are brilliant and far more capable than my ability to fly will ever be.

I have personally found the Align servos bullet proof,i wouldnt dream of using high end servos ever,complete waste of money for the return on them IMHO.

Cool.. seems like there are Align servo lovers out there.. its just I recall quite a few posts where people are cursing them!

I'll keep using them then.. I was looking at the Outrage and the MKS ones recently but I couldnt understand the massive price for the little spec increase (or less if they were the MKS HV/brushless versions!)

Use 610s in my 600 and these savox servos in the FBL raptor for the extra torque, they work very well Servo Shop

The tail servos have been a bit crappy as a tail servo but no problems with any of the others - used 610's, 510's and 410's.

My gripes would be..

1) High Current draw
2) Poor Centering

Will they be on my next heli ? Most probably.

Not being funny, but I am using the align servo 620 for 2 years and 650 for over 1, and had no probs at all. Also did some bench tests for current draw with three different amp meters, 1 being a 300 quid 1 and even with 4 of them under stall conditions only draw about 4 amp peaks or a little more, so not that bad. When under a certain load but not stalled they were running about 2ishamps but these were only rough test. And the centring ain't bad at all. .
Just my 2 pence worth.
