  • Knowing what you know now

would you change the way you have gone about flying heli's, would you have taken the same route, would you change what you have bought, i have been really pleased with the heli's i have bought, beam e4 my first then the raptor, really started getting into it with my first nitro, blinged it up a bit wich i now think was a waste of money, but hey ho. loving the outrage 50 and 90. but i wish i had gone for some differant electrics and radio, getting all the right gear slowly.
    so what would you change,

    Outrage velocity 50 nitro,

I probably woud'nt of purchased and nitro and spent the monies on batteries for the 450. Perhaps when I come back to flying, gawd knows when, I will have learnt.

I would have bought better the first time around!

I would only recommend the above if you really want to fly helis! Otherwise that's a big investment which you might not even like..

Apart from 3 or 4 Raptors when I first started I have always flown Align Helis.

No regrets at all, the Raptor was a great starter heli and the Aligns can take everything you throw at them.

Double bonus is they are cheap and easy to repair.

Yep, would not have bothered with nitro last year, it crippled me. Wish I had stuck with the 450 size and just had fun rather than feeling the pressure to go bigger. Oh well.

Not starting the hobby!!.. To addictive and expensive!!... Only joking!

If I had to say something.. its would be getting the MT 450.. I should have gone straight to the 500.. everything else I'm actually quite happy with

Well pleased with the route I've taken and the point I'm at today.
Like the T500 for local stuff (great hack), but really like the buzz the nitro's give.

I wish i had started this hobby a few years earlier, before the children came along and had tons of disposable income and time.

Don't get me wrong the kids are fantastic but the wife isn't working at the mo, so we've had a significant drop in income and both kids got new shoes today lol

I am 3 months into RC Heli Hobby. I wish I had not bought the smaller helis and just gone for a Trex 450 and a sim. I Would have saved close to £200 , at the moment I still have no real experience, no flying time or fun to show for it. I have a boxed up Blade 400, which I decide every weekend to fly it or not. Also bought a Blade 120sr which should have stuck to flying indoors.

I agree with the point that we all feel pressure to buy the bigger heli's, but I feel they are the better and more forgiving machines.

                      Quite Frustrating really.

I don't know why I keep watching Trex 700's on for sale.

I would have taken the advice I was given on what to buy first and not tried to do it on the cheap !

Ended up with what I was told to buy at the start ! ARHHHHH know it alls !!!!!!

It's also about the journey, and all our travels are different for various reasons.
As long as we remember to enjoy the journey & learn from our mistakes, that'll set us up to be good Avant Aurora owner's. Awesome.
