  • Are ball links 'one way'?

Am I right in thinking that ball links should only be connected one way round?
i.e. side with letter facing out, flanged side in?

Or is it ok to do half a turn on a link?

Didn't worry about it on my T-rex 450 but I want to be sure with my Knight.

    Yes, letter side out.

They are tighter the other way round and you make break links.

    I don't know why though!!

...you then find the scenario when 1 turn one way is too much, but another turn the other way is too little... so you have to decide which way is 'least' out!

If your after half a turn then you can always remove the ball, turn the link thru 180 and then put the ball back on but from the otherside, remember to mark the link tho so you know not to try and pull it off without removing the ball first

Rocket city links are not single sided though, which is useful for those adjustments to links where half a turn is perfect

            Cheers,

Most makes of links have the logo or a mark on that faces outside but a few like the Quick UK ones don't.

If there is not mark at all the look at the edge of the hole and one side will be flat (the outside), and the side you press onto the ball link will have rounded edge as that is how it came off the mould when it was made.

I used the reverse side if I need to get that half turn in otherwise I use the side with the larger hole to pop onto the ball.
