New OS MEGA Hyper .50

We've all noticed the drop in price of the OS hyper 50 in the shops recently, and noted the fact that OS seem to have done some deal with Align to make an identical Align 50 hyper supplied with the Trex600N. There as been a rumour for a while that OS must have a new even more powerful motor almost ready for release if they are prepared to licence their current hottest motor to align.
Well I have now seen the as yet not named mystery latest development .50 "Mega Hyper" from OS. Performance is amazing. It was in a raptor .50 and it is absolutely unboggableeven through sustained application of full collective and full cyclic!
It was in phoenix release 1.04 beta!

So is it my fault none of you can set up engines to produce power or tails that work:-)

Should there be several versions of each model in the sim, 3D version, 3D version with a crap engine, crap gyro version, crap servo version, crap servo's, gyro and engine, crap blades, etc etc or should the models be set up to perform as best they can?
I think there is some middle ground as always and maybe there should be multiple versions of each model but this takes time to do so it won't happen overnight.

Or I have to visit every flying site in the country/world and set up every ones models:-)

Bob, are you saying that compared to your Raptor 50 the one in the phoenix 1.04 beta is realistic?
I'd like one of your engines and set of the new eternal motion blades please!
Come to think of it, with the eternal motion blades I won't be needing the extra engine power, or any fuel for that matter. I expect the blades are a bit of a pain in the back of the car though...

Yes my Rappy is close to that much power, again a issue with the sim V the real world is there is so much less feed back you can't over pitch the models and fly the pitch so much on the sim so to give the same initial punch you have to set it so the model will not load too badly but give a decent climb out.

Which version of the sim do you have now, 1.04a and B are wrong as far as I know but it would'nt load on my laptop so never tried them, 1.04C is working ok and in the little time I have had to try it today seems about right.
Yes maybe if you hit the hold from the hover you will get longer than real hang time but go try a full on auto and it should be about right.

I was talking of 1.04b (and a). They are not relistic for power and autorotation.
c came out late last night early this morning and I haven't tried it yet 'cos I'm at work busy working!

I was playing with 1.04b on Sunday and found that the autos were pretty good now. I haven’t tried 1.04c yet, will do tonight.

Question, I seem to find in Phoenix, that it is very hard to translate fwd speed to spin up the head. I don’t think they have quite nailed that yet though it is much better. Do you think it realistic? Trying to do JK – 3DM 2004 style inverted auto with low level flip is next to impossible, for me at least!

I am finding that a piro flip loses least head speed.

Saturday will be really good actually, it is a round of the british hang gliding series (1st of 5 days), it is the 3D masters...and I'm at the sister in laws wedding!

Yes it will do full acro auto's much better than any other sim I have tried, auto's on the sim are still much harder than in real life just because of the limitations of any sim (your effectively looking though a small window at the heli and have no real feeling as to where your looking) we (the Phoenix guys and myself) worked very hard to increase the feedback on the auto on the sim and I think there is more we can do but it takes time and effort beyond this update.
