Thunderstorm greeted me this morning, so I guess that means no flying again today, the only consolation is Moto GP is on

Thanks Rob. I would have forgotten again probably
It's bathroom decorating weekend here and there's loads more to do than I originally expected to do (or wanted to do )
Thunder storms are always a transient (SP!) short live thing so doesn't mean the day is a right off, in fact looking on the rain fall radar looks like you should be ok by about 10.30ish I would say.
Wow what a day, really p****d this morning with the weather, had decided to do some decorating and watch the Moto GP, took the missus out to get some paint, oh dear, what a pity, never mind. they have run out.
So took the missus to lunch, and noted a change in the weather, loaded up and set off.
WHAT A DAY
Just me and one other at the site, he gave me some useful help, and i had a great afternoon, pretty much on my own.
Great Day as it turned out, not going to fly next weekend, will be watching how it should be done
still buzzin from a grat day WAAAHOOOOO

I took 5 models to the field today - 2 helis and 3 planes. I came home with 4 of them requiring attention on the bench!
First flight of the day was with my Sciddly-Doo. Flew around for about 30 seconds and then I began to think, "the cyclic isn't very responsive today and I don't remember it being like this before..." Landed it and found that one of the wash-out arms had parted company with the sliding block..... and yet it still flew, albeit rather rubbishly. I never did like the idea of that cap bolt threading straight into plastic with no nut on the back. Anyway, had a spare one at home, so all fixed now.
Had a couple of flights with the Vibe. At the end of the second flight, I turned the Tx off before walking over to pick up the model (it's got a PCM receiver, so should just go into fail-safe). When I got to the heli, the cyclic servos were jittering all over the place, where they should have been in hold. I never had a problem in flight, but the lack of fail-safe has caused me some worry. Anyway, I found that the receiver had worked itself a bit loose, and needed re-positioning etc. Also, re-tuned the synthesised Rx and the fail-safe is working ok now. However, it's a bit of a worry, knowing that the fail-safe can fail under certain conditions.
Then planes, one fell apart during the afternoon, another went dead-stick during my B-cert practicing and ended up landing off the field with minor u/c damage, and the 3rd survived the afternoon ok.
I've come home with plenty of stuff to be getting on with, so to speak (but no serious loss of equipment or money!).

Me neither. I upgraded that part (the washout base) to a metal one. Much more peace of mind.
Yesterday although started by having to abort going to the cafe with my mates on the bike, at about 11 went to the field sun came out bit of a breeze but nothing too bad and had a good days flying took 2 helis and 2 planes.
Little toni with a 120 in the front great fun to fly, my sons trainer as im trying to get him through his A cert which shouldnt take long if he would read the damn book LOL.
raptor, which im now starting to get some confidence, dangerous times. did some high level inverted hovering rolls loops, even had a go at getting some tic tocs going , not very well it has to be said.
the hardest part im still finding or all things is the right turn and just plain straight flight from left to right, im having trouble recognising exactly which angle the heli is at.
but a really good day even the mishap at the end of the day didnt really spoil it, took out the other heli my 450SE really went silly with it(as I said too much confidence) and ended up stuffing it. blades shafts canopy left frame skids etc. ive priced it out and only for to spend £50 so not too bad, the real bummer I think I killed a lipo.
I take it if there is a nice big dent in a lipo its finished?
Very worthwhile in my opinion.
I had that part fail on me at the North Notts flyin last year - losing control of the head completely. It did a lovely vertical tail slide straight into the floor.
Ouch!
Cheers,
Rob
