  • Just about creamed me drawers

Had my first proper forward flight this evening, Im still working with the training aids ( got them cable tied on) Just on my road back to land in front of myself and noticed that the aids where wiggling quite alot and ended up landing in a hurry, as i was worried they may swing around into the blades.
Although im happy as larry about the forward flight i ended up breaking the forward torque tube gears in the process of my hardish landing. No worries ive still got a massive grin on my face.

Think its back too good rubber bands for fastening the training aids on, or get rid of them?

    Cheers
    Liam

Congrats on the first proper flight dude , if u managed to complete a flight and land I'd say it's time to ditch the chicken legs , you'll find the heli is a lot more stable without them , and also a lot more responsive to stick Inputs , change you Tt gears and get back out a d have fun

Tail Gears !!! ARGHHH - I am a dab hand at tail gear replacement, I went though months of landing on the tail until I was taught this.

When landing don't be in a rush, come down tail in to eye level then, come down half the way to ground, then half way again, then half way again, then ... oh look its down !

        Give it a try.

Great stuff. Well done on your FF, it's such a great feeling.

+1 on loosing the training gear, they only stop the heli tipping over on landing/takeoff but won't do a bean in a crash! So, if you can do that fine there's no need to have them, and as already mentioned the heli will fly sooooo much better.

Liam if you can take off and land smoothly and without sliding around ( I used to land sideways most times to start with ) then it's time to think about ditching the training gear IMO. As Steve says it's only really there to stop the heli tipping over. It's not so noticable with the 600's and 700's I suspect but my TT360 actually became so much easier to hover once I took the gear off. I'm still killing TT gears though

Well done mate! I agree about the training gear... It's time for them to come off. As some have mentioned, the heli will be a lot more stable and responsive. To me though, the nicest thing about getting rid of the training gear is the fact you start doing proper landings and take off. With the training gear that's something you don't really need to worry about. Landing is fun
