Ok.. I ve flown a HBK2 and Solaris etc etc..

Now i want something a little bigger but i m gonna have to start from stratch as I dont have my own Tx etc etc.. Now I ve got a budget around 250 what could that get me from online or shop.. in the world of Electric heli's

If nothing then maybe i have to move up in the world and spend more.

If you havnt got a sim yet go for that, Pheonix of course, fantastic piece of software and a transmitter.

DX7, is especially useful if your going to use it on electrics as it knocks out the glitches and then I would save up and go for the 450 V2 or you could go second hand for a cheaper 450 V1 I did and ive got a great little machine. you can get airframe for like 100-150 quid then you need gyro 401 and servo 9650(£120-130ish), and some servos 3x hs65mg(£23 each) reciever AR6100(£45) and you have a fantastic little setup.

Not cheap but it will do all you will want it to do.

Nowhere near the quality of a T-Rex 450, but probably still flyable. Beware small electrics are really only good indoors, gymnasiums etc. with no wind. Flown outside, they can be twitchy in breezes.

The sim, as Tony mentions, is a good idea too. I can vouch for Phoenix...

Good stuff... go to their website and download the 1.03j update if you haven't done already, and see you on-line sometime. Flying with a few other folks (mainly off this forum!) is great fun.

I wanna know how the hell they keep such good control of a chaos as they do, I can get a few turns in without ploughing into the deck but ive very little control on were it actually goes.

I still think it would be worth hanging on until you can get hold of a Trex as they are just so superior to the other small helis, at least all the ones ive mucked about with. Im tempted to out my 450SE and go for the V2, However not having had a go with one I don't know how much better they actually are. ive flown mine in reasonable wind and they behave ok, looking out the window today I probably wouldnt fly it as it is quite windy here. and they are definately better on a still day. but their definately not one for your front room.
