I find that opti is quite smoky anyway. How hot does your engine get?? The simplest way to check is to hover the heli for a minute or 2 just to get the engine warmed up then land and put your finger against the back plate, you should be able to keep your finger there without getting burned . This isn't an exact measure but will get you roughly where the engine should be!

Hi it gets warm but not hot.
yeah most people use opti fuel at our club and there heli's smoke just not as bad as mine.when hovering it once landed it and turn round all you can see is all the smoke,i had a job yesterday to use the heli with all that smoke,and its not nice for all the other club members,my os 46 was great not too much smoke at all,then changed it to the os 50

I had this happen a couple of times to a Rappy 50 of mine. His tail output shaft is bent. May only be very slightly, as mine was, but it's enough to stress the plastic and cause a failure.

cheers for that,but what we dont understand is that its a brand new tail shaft.going to the field in abit to have a look at it

the shaft mybe new but it could be bent
do you think that the packing dept of any model company or modelspares delivery rus will handle the parts with kid gloves
the odd packet will get dropped
the odd box will be thrown into the back of a lorry etc

All sorted now thanks for all of your replys
the problem was that the boom was moveing farward all the time and making the bent loose so we put a boom clamp on it,which has sorted the problem
