Only from what I've read but it swells, so hassle to get right as its for the clunk and it also collapses on itself

I'm curious about this 'specific manufacturer' choice of fuel tube. In all my years of flying, I've just walked into my local model shop and just ordered the stuff off the roll as it comes. It's either 'normal' tube or 'clunk' tube. Never had a noticeable problem with any of it. Never even bothered to ask what make it is.

What makes Hayes tube so good, or not in Eckchaz's opinion?

I cant answer that Steve.. have to wait for the others to reply on Hayes.

However, my problem (as of most Velo90 owners) is that the tank design with the clunk being to short means even a brass clunk is suspended somewhat.. and because its awkward to fit a header (and looks stupid imo) were using fuel magnets or MOAS.. and these are light buggers which needs a very flexible line. As it looks like it stays in the middle of the tank and gives me no confidence at all (dispite what the designer states with floating movement with fuel)

I dont care about the make/content, just super flexible so it touches the side oh er missus!

At least its come down in price Kel.. I'm still a bit dubious about it so asking about others. The Lynx line has a wall diameter of 1.5 with ID of 2.. surely the Align 4mm tubing will work better (id 2.5mm with 1.5mm wall)

I'm using the thinner walled outrage clunk with the Magnet.. have you turned your Velo upside down and seen where it sits

Could you increase the effective flexibility of the tube by adding a heavier clunk?

went through 4 different clunk tubes in my fueling bottle, they all degraded quite bad permently in the fuel, used hayes for the last 12 months and it is still as good as new.
If you run your engine dry after each flight theres no need to soak it for 24hrs, if you do leave fuel in the tank then it does need soaking to let it expand to cut it a accurate length, although this only needs to be done once.

I'd rather stick to a magnets on this heli and you cant with the fuel magnets.. However I did try and add some washers between the foam and grips on them to increase its weight but its still not enough..

Heaviest as tested by Kel was the OS bubbless one 6.1grms.. which is a grm heavier than a fuel loaded Magnet and 3grms heavier than a fuel loaded MOAS.. so I might have to resort to that if all else fails

Mines alot worse... over 2cm and i've tried everything including pushing the tube in more at one side of the nipple and clamping the grommet on the tank lopsided

Eddie could you not go a bit longer and saw a groove in the end of the clunk stop it sucking if it gets too close.

I have the Hayes and moas in my velo 50 with the new tank and also my gasser and never had a problem with it. Just use some normal fuel tube to grip it over the top the hayes will split in the short length.

Used Hayes before but had no faults with the £2 stuff from FL.

I could try that but then, might it not get stuck sometimes.. purely from the extra length pushing the clunk against the tank wall? or if it doesnt get stuck I think it will rest on the slope (like the Srimok problem) cant really win due to tank design unless I find a suitable tubing

Just seen the thin walled stuff from FL.. might order that too..

Me thinks I'm going to try the Align 4mm tubing.. wall diameter and ID might work but will wait and see.. otherwise its the expensive Lynx line!.. Then thats going to be £50 wasted on clunks & line to get the clunk to work right.. how stupid

                              Thanks for responses guys
