  • Heli fever !!

Hi ya all heli nuts. I've had some diseases in my time, but not one as bad as heli fever ! Only been flying since last summer and it's gone crazy. Learnt on a Raptor 50 then I've since bought 2 Kalt 22cc gassers, a Robbe R22 Robinson, an X-Cell 60 and a new Graupner Agusta 109 kit ! I can fly basic circuits now, and I'm not interested in 3D etc. Just love to fly scale nice and smooth. I've got to teach myself nose-in hovering. Anybody got any tips ?

Where did you get the Kalt Gassers - had one about 8 years ago they must be getting on a bit now!!!
I'm flying an Agusta 109 power at the moment ( check out my gallery ).
Keep up the enthusiasm there will be times you will doubt your in the right hobby , but those times will pass.

Hi G-Dave, I bought the Kalt Gassers on Ebay. One was in a poor state, so I completely stripped them down and rebuilt them. They should be ready for flying in a week or so. can't wait !

                Kalt Gassers

                Hi Smiggsy
Be sure and check the Tail Hub bolts - they had a habit of failing after a hard landing - they would not fail at the time of the hard arrival but if undetected would let go whilst in the air causing the tail blade to fly off.
Let us know how you get on .
                Regards Dave

                  Re: Kalt Gassers

Hi dave, Thanks for the tip. Will remember that one. I hope I don't have too many problems as spares are a problem.

Hi Chappers, Spares are a problem. Midland Heli's have some, but luckily I am in race engineering and have access to materials and various machining facilities including a carbon shop. I'll just have to be extra careful when I'm flying them !
