  • Curtis youngblood Stubz???

    Hi everyone

I've been flying my knight for ages now with the standard paddles and as much as i like the hovering stability (inverted that is) i'm bored of the cyclic response, i'd like it to whip around quick enough that i can piro flip around head height but not be a complete bitch to hover as well if you know what i mean. I'd looked at the stubz paddles since thay match my radix main and tail blades but are thay just an over priced fashion accessory? Has anyone tried these on a knight or recomend something else e.g V paddles or green raptor paddles.

    Thanks

    Gaz

I've got a set of stubz but not tried them yet. They are mean't to be very good though. What Knight do you have? The cyclic responses are very quick on the Knight. How do you have it setup? What hole is the upper mixing arms in? What sysle of paddles do you have on it? (new or old style)

    Cheers

      Hi Matt

I've got the Knight 50 pro, the full metal version. The paddles i suspect are the old style i guess, i didn't realise compass had prodced a more recent paddle (i assume they're for the 3d!). As for the head set up... mechanically there is only one way to set the head up as no additional holes are on the mixing arms , however i've got s9255 servos on the ccpm, so the head starts to do what it's told very quickly only to be dampened down by the heavy flybar arrangement. The heli in it's current set up is very smooth and is easily controlled going through some moderate 3d, i'd just like to get the model rolling faster. Lighter paddles are the easy option instead of going and drilling out holes in the mixing arms.
What do you think of the 3d? I was going to get one when they were deveolping it then they released it with a crap plastic canopy! other than that and the plastic grips it looks good.

3D is very good. Great improvment over the pro. Lighter , fast controls.

If you look at Ade Laws website it shows the mod the upper mixing arms which is well worth doing. http://www.flyingaid.co.uk/

The original paddles will be fine. Still fast cyclics on them. Make sure the swash travel is maxed without binding and re drill the mixer arms. It will liven the model up very well. 2000 RPM on the head as well
