  • Use of Loctite

I've read a couple of posts where people talk about using loctite or threadlock and wondered how important it was. How many of you actually use it? And what's the application? Does it work only for metal on metal, or can it be used for metal on plastic also?

And how do you dismantle the heli afterwards, if you want to?

    Thanks,
    Daniel

You absolutely MUST use loktite on Metal to Metal applications particulalrly with nitro helis. You mustn't use loktite on screws into plastic though because it weakens the plastic.

For almost everything you need to use loktite 243 which is medium strength. How you use it comes with experience, but as a general guide put a blob of it 3-4 mm on the end of the scew and rub it round into the thread. What you don't want is to over loktite as thats a right pain when removing screws.

Occasionally you need to use red loktite and green. You would be well advised to read the instructions for a heli, which will tell you or ask on here.

    Hope that helps
