  • DX8 set up programme for align 450 se v2

I'm trying to get my 450 off the ground. Does anyone have a set up that I could use to upload to my dx 8. It all seems very confusing to me with all the different settings etc

    Ashford Kent?

Best off starting from scratch tbh.

Check that the DX8 is set to 120 degrees. Then reverse all the servos to suit.

What time do you get there and I'll make sure i'm there to meet you

You have a 450, had the CSM gyro on it?

          Starts at 6:30pm.

I agree with Sacko, it's not as hard as you think and setting it up yourself gets you up to speed with what each part does in the radio. I set up my 450 sport on my new DX8 a couple of months ago.

              1) under "Servo Setup" set up the servos so they all move in the correct direction for throttle and cyclic input. Main issue here is when one servo is moving in the wrong direction when you simply need to work out which is moving wrong and reverse it.
              2) set centre throttle and level the swash using the "Sub Trim" under "Servo Setup", you should try to get it as close to the desired position mechanically before using the sub trim function
              3) Once the swash is level at centre throttle, take it to max and min throttle levelling it at each using "Travel" under "Servo Setup", this will have to be done one value at a time so you'll have to use the cyclic stick to select the appropriate value.
              4) now your swash is level you can start to go into the "D/R and Expo" menu to soften the helis response around centre stick and also to limit the max movement if required. This can be done for all switch positions so increase it by degrees so when you fly you can try a range.
              5) now Set you throttle cure required. Again you do this for all f mode stick positions. I chose to take it up fast and start levelling off at about 50% stick.
              6) now set your pitch curve, again for all F mode positions. This should be set to give you the right pitch level at centre throttle to hover.
              7) finally if you want to adjust your gyro from your set you should dial in a number of gyro values for all gyro switch positions. mine run between 26% and 32.5%

That's about it to get you off the ground. I didn't make any changes under the "Swash" menu or anything else although you probably could if you wanted later. Just remember if you're using heading hold gyro dont do anything on the "Tail Curve" menu.

Apologies for not simply uploading my settings but I just sent my DX8 back to HH today as I appear to have an issue where sometimes the Aileron value suddenly jumps up even when the stick is centred, this is definitely worth checking on your set under the monitor menu. It's easiest to check when flying a sim where all values are 0% at centre stick.

              Happy flying
