I haven't crashed a nitro model yet (maybe had 100 flights over the year) so I really fear the thought of crashing also! I find it then makes me really nervous which makes me more likely to crash, and not learn anything new. I can tic toc and fly inverted backwards on the sim all day long, but in real life, I'm now only getting the guts to do inverted forwards flight.

i think the worst thing to do is fear crashing lets face it your going to crash ! it may not be your fault it may be your fault
if you fear crashing you will never progress with your flying, accept your gonna crash and i may make your flying that much more enjoyable ;0)

Doing too many hurricanes the same way. I just love the noise of the blades. Really need to learn going the other way round. Annoys me.

                Well said Kel.

Like my grandad used to say, there are 3 certainties in life; death, taxes and crashing your heli.

Okay, he never said the heli bit.

most regular "derrr" moment I make is forgetting to start my timer, although I'm getting pretty good at guessing when 6 mins is up Only sport flying with 5000mah 6S turnigy's on my Trex 600, so I'm probably ok for at least another minute before getting towards low voltage concerns.

My biggest "habit" is STILL hovering and always bottling actually flying my heli away form me and to any decent height! Dunno why cos I can do reasonable stuff on Phoenix, but the few times I actually get out flying I always bottle it and just hover about. I have finally got my 500 flying ok now tho so hopefully that will bring me on

My current one is trying to start the Heli with the throttle cut switch on my tx still on. Another one I usually do on the first flight is take the Heli out to the flight line then realise my neck strap is still in the pits

Putting the fuel clamp on, filling tank and forgetting to take the clamp off. Engine dies after a couple of seconds. ARGHH!!!!

I would judge myself a half decent pilot if I could fly to my left as I do my right, also the annoying thing I keep doing is not letting the beast ex go through its start up, I turn the heli on and then start it up, out to the flight line then back again........
