Can I use Isopropyl Alcohol to clean the switch in a 2-in-1? I'm getting a tiny bit of flickering when I touch the switch.

I have had this Sunday
When I landed leds was only on one.
went turn off and went up.
I soldered on the back of switch and tried it yesterday
leds stayed on but found rx voltage dropping to 4.9 from 5.9 so it's coming off.
Shame I can't trust them no more
Also not the first time I have had trouble
Has any one found a wiring diagram for them yet?Cheers Paul

Well I just found a can of Servisol electronic cleaning solvent and have given a few hefty doses into the switch and the flickering seems to have disappeared completely. Obviously still a bit of a concern though so I'll have a think about this one. Don't really rate my soldering skills very highly so I'm not 100% sure I'd be successful at soldering on that tiny PCB.

In that case do as said above bypass the switch. But when you say bypass the switch, what exactly do you mean? I thought you were talking about opening the switch box, removing the switch and bridging the two terminals on the PCB with a blob of solder (exactly the sort of job that I would probably mess up! lol). Or do you mean removing the entire switch box (in which case, what about the glow driver button?).Originally posted by Paulo uk View PostIn that case do as said above bypass the switch. Paul

Dont trust it get and remove the switch off the board, This is very easy to put right all you have to do is fit a normal flight pack switch onto your heli, this needs to be fitted between the battery and the regulator, then take the align unit off and unscrew the 4 screws on the back of it cut the switch off the pcb and solder the 3 contact pads together, screw the unit back together and put some silicon sealant into the hole left by you removing the switch.
Doing this you still get to see the condition of your battery and you can still use the push button for the glow.

Ok I got it. So you don't have to "de-solder" the switch? What did you use to cut it?Originally posted by wayne123 View PostDont trust it get and remove the switch off the board, This is very easy to put right all you have to do is fit a normal flight pack switch onto your heli, this needs to be fitted between the battery and the regulator, then take the align unit off and unscrew the 4 screws on the back of it cut the switch off the pcb and solder the 3 contact pads together, screw the unit back together and put some silicon sealant into the hole left by you removing the switch.

Exactly what I would do apart from the switch, just solder decent connectors onto the rx pack and the reg and connect them to power up. Nice and simpleOriginally posted by wayne123 View PostDont trust it get and remove the switch off the board, This is very easy to put right all you have to do is fit a normal flight pack switch onto your heli, this needs to be fitted between the battery and the regulator, then take the align unit off and unscrew the 4 screws on the back of it cut the switch off the pcb and solder the 3 contact pads together, screw the unit back together and put some silicon sealant into the hole left by you removing the switch.

That would definitely work but I'm thinking that it might be a bit of a pain to power up/down because you'd probably have to remove the canopy to do it.Originally posted by del19_82 View PostExactly what I would do apart from the switch, just solder decent connectors onto the rx pack and the reg and connect them to power up.
