the dsmx ones work with dsm2 revievers in dsm2 mode no probs i know i rum em ;0)
with either a dx7 or dx8 or dx6i i have tested this with a dx7 and dx8

They may work, but it is contrary to advice from Spektrum to use them that way if the advice matters to anyone.

My suspicion is that there are specific models of receiver or specific circumstances under which a problem can occur, but rather than elaborate on the exact combinations to avoid they are just saying 'don't do it'.

you keep stating this mark but it would be nice to know "officially" why there are very few if none of the older dsm2 remotes available is there word on more coming ???? or what is HH's plan for dsm2 remotes ??

That is unfortunately a 'marketing' question which Andy (the Spektrum rep over on RCGroups) will never answer

I guess it depends how cynical a view you want to take.

Stopping the supply of DSM2 satellites then warning against mixing old receiver base units with new DSMX satellites is one way to make people consider buying new receivers.

I personally don't think it is a good idea to do that as if people feel the need to change receivers then they may decide to change to Futaba instead ...

I've yet to find anything Andy has said that was not accurate at some level, but without specific statements on exactly which combinations or circumstances cause problems we are left with a choice of either following their advice or taking a chance, the only reason I've posted their advice is so people do know that there is some element of 'chance' involved,

i seems very odd that a product i have tested to work would be a no no from the rep but then i guess its a way of covering them selves from the possability of failure ! and not answering questions about dsm2 availibility is also odd but hey ho there you go !
