  • Bought a Raptor 50SE 3D

Only Started flying in January just about hovering side on, with my Raptor 30 and now got my self ...

Raptor 50SE 3D with a Redline 53 engine.... cant even fly yet, and as you can see got the bug LOL.

Going to take off the gy401 and servo and Speckrum Reciever and telemetry from the 30 to go on it.

Am I running before I can walk, Its got lighter paddles carbon 3D Fins etc... or should It be more stable, anyway Too late Now the Deed is done. But cant wait to set it up and have a fly.

Anybody got any Does and Dont's , as it's a new Heli, and just about got the feel for the 30 and prob will be sh+ting myself on first flight, as not experienced enough to get my self out of trouble, saying that I have had few close call with the 30 and manged to bring it back and not had a crash...YET...

    Cheers

(Ps this Bloody hobby is costing my a fortune...But I Love IT )

Good on ya . the 50 should be a lot quicker on the cyclics than the 30 . if it were me i would build the 50 up and keep on learning on the 30 and keep the 50 shinny til you are conifdent in fast and slow circuts and stall turns and even some loops and rolls. thats just what i would do all the best in your build and keep on learning which ever machine you choose

As said, mechanically set it up for 3D, then use expo and curves to dial it down to your liking. Then as you progress, it's only a case of opening up the curves. Might be worth investing in a better gyro. Spartan DS760s are very good and can be had second hand for £50-60. You could sell the GY401 for £30-40.

So Sunday best seems to be the majority opinion and get a better Gyro and a tail servo for the 50 and keep the 30 as is, the question now is what I should buy for it, Still going to move the my receiver and telemetry to the 50, and maybe get cheap ones for the 30.

And just take the 50 for a little hover now and again until i can fly the 30, I dont think I can just leave it sat there calling me.

To sum it up.... Be sensible and don't be an idiot and smash up my new Toy.

Thanks Everybody I was going to set it up and fly, but all your experiences has made me see sense and hopefully extend the time till my first crash.

I have both a Raptor 50v2 with an OS 50 hyper and a Titan SE with the redline 53.....The titan is a lot more agile than the v2 given the difference in engines....just be aware that no matter how you set it up, going from a 30 to 53 is a big jump. Just be ready and be careful...oh and have fun...the Titan SE is an awesome machine
