One of my club mates spent most of last summer running two Sceadus side-by-side, one with normal mixing, and the other with CCPM, both running on a 14MZ Tx. Everything else about the two helis was the same, except that the standard model had £25 servos (9202s I think) and the CCPM version had £70 servos (9255s or similar - can't remember now). He took a long time to eventually come up with his conclusion.....

He decided after many months of flying that the standard mechanical mix was better on two counts - (a) it had better collective and cyclic response, and (b) it did with MUCH cheaper servos.

However, I will stress again, that it took a long time to come up with this conclusion, because basically there was so little difference in the flying characteristics of the two helis.

its probably worth mentioning that the sceadu CCPM was effectively an "upgrade" it was never designed with CCPM in mind so the support of the bell cranks was far from perfect and the sceadu mechanical mix is the best going by quite a long way.

really you need to compare a good CCPM heli with a good mechanical one. with the same head on it... not an easy thing to do!

We had one that the mechanical tray on it used to 'twist' and so alter phasing on collective moves...Couldn't solve the problem, I went for the SWM version when I got one personally...

Even did it on the ground...

Twisting tray is (usually) down to a servo trying to overttravel and pushing the tray.
I've seen it myself when setting one up
          Cheers,

nah, it was twisting all the way through the travel, not just at the extremes...
