  • Servo's for 450 Se V2

Ok just phoned my local model shop to check they have the bits before i go down (slough Rc Models) and i wanted 3x HS65mg's for my trex im getting but ....... they dont have any they say there is a real shortage of them !!! How **** so here are my options. Please help

    HS 55 : speed 0.17, 1.1KG

    JR 371: speed 0.23, 1.3KG

I am open to suggestions on what other servos will do the job at the end of the day this is going to cost over 500 quid so i dont really want to use cheap servo's price is not to much of an issue but dont want to spend more than 40 ish quid a servo the hs55's seem a bit cheap to me 8.99 ..... the JR ones are only 15 quid so any one tell me whats good and whats not ??

The other setup parts are gy401 9650 and what ever i find to put on the swash i have now flown for a few years so its not going to be doing 3d for a while but just want a good setup ???

Why dont you try the heli shop in Farnborough?

    www.helicopters-online.co.uk

Or Skyline is only another 10 miles or so from Slough, they usually have them.

        Randall,

I would hold out for the HS65MG's if you can. They are brilliant servos which work very very well in the 450.

You may find that Phil Henderson has some in stock, and his prices are very reasonable.

        Cheers

The reason is Slough are doing a deal where you buy the kit, 401, 9650 and the swash plate servos and get about 60 quid of the whole lot so if i can replace the servos with something elce i can still get the deal and either pay a bit more or less depending on the price of the servos i put in there place. are the hs65mg's really that good ?? i could go elce where but im going to loose the 60 quid discount so the servos will actually cost a hell of a lot more ! surely there must be a servo that is just as good ???

My LHS - Mick Charles Models 020 8393 3232 (Ewell) had a few HS65MGs when I was in there last. Bit of a trek for you but could be worth a phone call

              Hi Randall

We have a limited amount of the next best thing, the 65HB which is the same servo but with a carbonite gear set, these will certainly be ok and if/when you strip the gears you can rebuild the servo with the metal gear set from the 65MG, this works out more expensive than buying the 65MG in the first place but not massively so and of course they are available.
There is a Global shortage on the 65MG!

I have sent you a PM as well.

              Cheers

Bob YHPM Aparently its becuase the hs65mg uses the same resistor as mobile phones do and mobiles have more demand so im told not to sure how true that is

                  Randell,

Do Slough RCM have the HS65's with karbonite gears in stock? these are prolly the second best choice, and it may be possible to fit the metal gears when you break them.

                  Cheers

They'll be fine, me thinks. Will certianly last until your first crash - thats where the metal gears of the 65MG will be useful.
