  • Counterfeit Spektrum goods?

Im just wondering if there are conterfeit Spektrum goods lurking about?

I was after an extra spektrum remote receiver for the vbar and many places were out of stock so I spotted one on the bay. It was a couple of quid cheaper than most hobby but thought nothing of it because the pic looked to be ok as it was sealed in spektrum packaging. Well hit the button and yesterday it arrived, however wasnt in spektrum packaging but in a clear plastic bag with the shops label. This got me thinking, but the remote looked ok with the right casing etc so gave it a try.

Well plugged it into the vbar and nothing, doesnt respond or light up. however it will light up when plugged into an ar6200 receiver.

    Any ideas?

I have seen Tx'x sold dx5 in just a plastic bag from well known online shops...with a reduced price. I dont know what happend to the packaging but it does seem like it isnt that unusual. However would expect it to work? did you pay via Paypal if so no problem witha refund

Is this from brentford RC by any chance? I bought 2 satellites from them and had the same thing. They also had the wrong length lead with them (should have a 12inch not 6 with satellites), and when questioned they sent me the correct lead and told me that's how they were delivered from Horizon Hobby, which I fin hard to believe.

You can get those Orange RX from Hobbyking, but not sure I'd want them on a heli. More likely a park-flier or wing.

i never knew you had to have a 12" lead on the sat rx. why do they sell shorter ones then as i have short ones on most of my helis for years and never had any issues or heard of any

You don't have to have a 12inch lead, but it's what should be in the package when buying a satellite separately. I was pointing out that it didn't have the correct one as per the contents list

Dont confuse the compatables with the clones chaps there are alternatives. Also early Sats were not compatable with the V-Bar as far as I thought? could that be the issue?
