the hyperion rx is known under other names like schulze and berg its the same rx but with a different badge. however i dont believe jeti is one of them.

I think Ade is right - I don't think the Jeti and the Schultz/Hyperion are the same thing. I think they do employ the same principal, though.
I've got a perfect flying record - I've not left one up there yet!

there is a little bit of confused info here about the different rxs but the advice is al good.
Berg and schulze developed the DSP technology independantly.

The schulze alpha is a popular rx available widely on 35Mhz, it has a little led glitch counter which idicates how many times it filtered out bad frames diring your flight.

Berg were only on the 72Mhz USA band, and stopped actually making their receivers and sold their design to Castle creations who are making them again so far only in 72mhz but they were developing a 35 mhz one. I wonder if that will still happen with the growth of 2.4Ghz.

Meanwhile Hyperion badged up a DSP receiver, saying it used schulze/berg technology. It also appears under the MZK and Sexta labels - but no longer the hyperion label after some sort of legal wrangling. This one doesn't have the glitch counter but was by far the most recommended at trextuning before 2.4Ghz was available. Ashley Davis and Nutz were using them among others. Get them from www.robotbirds.com

Looks like Jeti also developed a DSP rx too.

The DSP compares incoming tx signal with the last few frames and decides if it is reasonable, so can ignor "glitches". It is capable of holding and coming back again more quickly than PCM which tends to give a longer "lock out".

Yuo will still get problems with the DSP rx if you have poor placement of components and rough bearing etc - they are not glitch proof. you need to go 2.4Ghz for that - which is also advantageous with a small electric becuase it is so tempting to fly them in unofficial places where they might just be another 35mhz user nearby that you don't know about (another trex450?).

I had problems with my trex locking out with a hyperion DSP receiver which I now blame on a duff hitec tx. Since going futaba I have been using a 146i pcm rx with no problems but my hyperion has been thoroughly tested in a glider with no problems and I would probably now try it again in my trex if I had to.

ok so from what i can gather from all of you i have not got a bad rx ? 2.4 sets look quite good but i am yet to find one to replace my FF9 with the same functions... + i have been looking around the net and seen some good reviews and some bad... so i think i will wait untill they have been tested over a long time.
