  • Modeltechnics duraglow 10 or contest 10?///

Well, the other week as i thought as i would be flying the raptor i bought some duraglo 10 online but it was out of stock, the weekend before last my dad took me to the model shop to get it qiocker and got told contest 10 was better. Now, on monday the duraglo 10 arrived as they didnt tell us they didnt cancel the order so now i have a gallon of each! I'm going to look at the raptors swash later and try to fix it, in the mean time i want to sell one of the bottles to get the money to get the last thing.

I paid £15 minus delivery for the duraglo 10

    I paid £18 for the contest 10

    Which fuel is better?

Also if someone wants to buy the fuel that is not as great for my raptor, i don't want what i paid for them, i want

    £10 for the duraglo

    £14 for the contest

    Thanks
    Thanks,
    Jake!

These are both mixes aimed primarily at fixed wing aircraft rather than helis.

Both are reasonable fuels though, and I used contest 10 for some time until they brought out a dedicated heli fuel.

My personal recommendation would be Bekra 10 or 16 - also from Model Technics - though others on here will recommend Opti fuels. I don't think Opti do low nitro content though. They certainly didn't do straight last time I asked.....

The main difference between plank and heli fuel is castor oil. Castor is a very good lubricant, but at high temperatures - such as found in a heli engine - it can varnish up the engine, inside and out! This causes it to run even hotter, aggravating the problem further! It can also form lumps of "coke" in the silencer, leading to blockages eventually.

For these reasons, most heli flyers use a fully synthetic oil, usually Klotz, which is the major constituent in Bekra.

I would go with the contest 10, and switch to Bekra next time you order!

No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery.
