    Hi everyone

As a new convert to this wonderful hobby, I have a question.

I have bought a Blade 120 SR. Even though I haven't flown it yet, I find myself opening the box 5 or 6 times a day and staring at it lovingly.

Please can someone tell me that this sort of behaviour is normal???

    Many thanks

Its very normal, I still sit and stare at my 500 although I do fly it a fair bit so that part as said for you is odd.

It just gets worse if it turns out that heli's are for you so warn the other half now whilst she will think your joking.

      Before you ask:

NO, you can't have a go

I haven't flown it yet because I've only just started, and I'm still practising with the mcx2. I also don't have a huge amount of room in which to fly the slightly bigger helicopter. Having said that I'm going to a mates house tomorrow evening, (who also flies hellis) and he has a fair amount of room so I'll take it with me then and give it a wizz.

I guess the answer to the lack of space is to join a club. I also understand that the 120sr can be flown out of doors in moderately calm conditions.

            Hi rigger......dead calm more like.
They do not like even the slightest breeze.
They are great indoors if you have a very very big room.
I am lucky and have access to a huge dance rehearsal space and that is only just big enough once you start slinging the SR 120 around.
If you take the skids off and jam the battery into the canopy it goes like the sh!t off the proverbial shovel and happens to look pretty cool too........get the damn thing out of the box and let it fly.

              120sr

I can see your point about wanting to wait til your a bit better to get her out and have a go... but the 120sr is a very beginner friendly heli indeed...!! i started flying with great success with the 120sr and as long as you take it steady and just hover around to start with you will be fine..!! i found the 120sr easier to fly around than the MSR thats a bit lively..!!!

These little helis are best indoors till you are alot more confident with them then a bit of wind is not really an issue but you will have to switch the swash plate settings to the outer balls to get the extra control you will need. Ive read alot of threads on flying them on a windy day ( helifreaks ) and it possible but there is a skill to it..

With regards to staring at it too much.. ive been guilty of that to.. especially as it ends up costing more money in upgrades when i come up with new ideas to improve the heli. Mine is currently going through a trex250 upgrade including landing gear, trimmed 250 canopy and carbon tail and supports.... she is looking one sweet little heli... problem with that is i just want to sit and look at her even more..????

But as said above... you really need to let her fly though... once you do, you will not put her back in the box thats for sure..!!!

              Good luck and happy flyin..
