When the bearings go in a OS50 Hyper, is it usually the rear one, front one, or both?

I do both at the same time being you stick the motor in the oven it can damage the front one if you intend to keep it.
Found a good bearing shop in st neots that can do both front and back for £7.50 better that £22Proud member of the Mk Heli Club

The temperature it reaches in the oven will not damage the bearings, it might burn your finders though
I have never yet needed to replace a front bearing, and I've lost count of the rear bearing in my oldest engine

In around 7 years of RC flying, mostly planks, I've never replaced an engine bearing. So other than the screwdriver-to-the-crankcase test, what are the signs of a worn bearing?

I'm burning out the stock of Prosynth 2000 (10%) that I got from Weston while flying planks. From there on, I don't know. I've read your thoughts about Magnum fuels, and I see your point. More smoke does not necessarily mean more protection...I've got a perfect flying record - I've not left one up there yet!

I've heard the urban ledged that once you've started burning a particular fuel in an engine, you should stick to it. The implication is that its not the fuel per say thats causes the issues, its the change.
I've no scientific facts to back that up, though...I've got a perfect flying record - I've not left one up there yet!

If the engine is out try pulling up and pushing down on the crank, thats a quick way to test!
I also found less problems IF you heat up the crank case with a hot air gun, the BD type. next time 'you know who' opens the over you don't have to hide...

(Bekra 16 makes the bearings last as far as I have seen, I only changed them on 2nd hand engines I have bought)

You have mentioned what i was thinking
I have flown helis for 6 years and until last week i have never changed a bearing,,
I always used Model Technics fuel but have used magnum lately,most people i fly with also use Magnum and bearing changes are a regular thing
I am going to try Model Technics Propower 25,i have mentioned it before but i kinda dislike the smell but i do think that bearings should last longer than some people are getting
I know i am flying the models harder than ever now but i still suspect the fuel
