off the topic forum

hi guys, how come the off the topic forum is no longer viewable on the front screen? I know you cant please everybody, but sometimes its good to see what else is happening in the world.

It is viewable on tapatalk on the main screen on there, but been stopped on the forum, how come?

Is it anything to do with other forums, just asking, and no harshness or debate intended

Probably that it's only the minority that actually use it as intended and everyone else posts their random mutterings in Main Discussions.

I don't think so. After a quick glance at the list, the Off the topic forum is 3rd in the list of most used forums, behind Main Discussions and For Sale. That's 3rd out of 129 forums on the site.

It's a pretty heavily used forum for sure.

I know where the forum is if I want to look at and personally I prefer it away from the front page, its supposed to be a heli site after all.

Its part of the start towards the major upgrade. In the new format we are breaking up the content across a few pages thus allowing members to hopefully get a degree of flexibility in terms of which page they use as there main homepage. To make this work as it should we will be needing members to use the various parts of the forum for the right topics. Ones that are not will be moved.

If we start the habbits now of putting threads in the right sections then it will make life easier.

Not trying to be awkward its easy to just keep on putting stuff into main discussions - but its should really only be heli related in some form.

In the new format we have a homepage with all content + some add-ons for example with accuweather so in your cpanel you put in your code for your location and you have your local weather info on the homepage.

Then we have a page not to dis-similar to what we have now but focused on threads and we are looking to split the elements so you can close off say off topics / forsale so that they don't load up.

Then we have the full forum listings Also What's New

So you can decide which pages you wush to bookmark as your prefered homepage.

Hopefully this will give everyone a better choice and experience.

I hadnt noticed the change but I'm glad it's gone this way. They were funny at first but there were times where the home page was nothing but "is ... doomed?" or "... rant" lol.

I just click new posts. Thats my bookmark and works well for me.
