  • Finally giving FBL another go.

After my disasterous dip into the world of the flybarless a year 18month ago, I stuck with my flybar through thick and thin.

But haveing flown a fair few fbl machines now and to be honest liking very few or them I have decided to go it again, my decision based on the only unit that Ive used that ive liked flying was the VBar so ive now bought one, last night I was starting to hook it up to the heli.

I got it bound and upgraded to 5.1 so I kinda get to keep my flybar then I started looking at pluging it in, but it was late and I got confused, so its going to have to wait until this evening LOL.

Hopefully first flight will be the weekend, Im picking the head up from my mate tonight.
    All the best
    Tony.

Hopefully you will like it this time

    Tail Servo-----Tail Servo
    Channel 4
    Channel 3-----Pitch Servo
    Channel 2-----Aileron Servo
    Channel 1-----Elevator Servo
    Rudder/Aux2
    Collective/ESC----Throttle
    Ail
    Elev
    Aux-

Aileron and Pitch Servo may change round, but you will have to look at the Swash Screen (from memory), and the software will tell you where the channels go.

That should start you off, if you get stuck give me a shout.

I think theres a few pilots who have used flyberless and gone back to flybarred heli's AND THAT INCLUDES US(ME AND STEFAN)

          BUT
Stefan intends on giving it another try but going a different way about it.last year he used beast x v1 and a convertion for the head, but this time we will use either a trex head and shorter main shaft and beast x2 version or mikardo 5.1 etc,not quite sure yet

We will try it again tho for sure

Tony, I am just round the corner and willing to help with the setup, I have been flying 5.1 beta for a couple of months now, and know the options you can try with the governor.

I tried a 3g unit on a trex 500 and it nearly put me off for life. But since that time I have been flying a beast x 700n and the more I fly it the more I love it.

Got it all plugged in last night picked the head up and put that on it.

one thing I want confirmed if you tilt the heli to one side is it right the swash should move the opposite way to compensate. ie dip the nose forward and the swash tilts back.

I was trying to figure out which orientation to select as I have mounted the sensor on the front with the wire away from the mast, but the selection with the wire away from the mast on the screan makes the swash tilt the same way as your tipping it, which im pretty darn sure is wrong.

ok finally didnt have time to explore this but although the tail is going the right way on command the gryo seams to be the wrong way, but its the wrong way in both settings? so is this switchable somewhere ive not seen.

finally the default settings with everything central is this a good starting point for getting it up and running?

As for the tail Tony I think that might be in the radio you need to adjust that.

As far as im aware by clicking the servo in the pic it changes the direction but if the tail is not compensating the correct way have you got the radio set the correct way in the Transmitter setting screen.

I've not had the issue so far where the tail moves the correct way with input but does not correct the right way in HH.

It does sound like its reversed in the TX settings and this has made it the wrong way in the tail screen so they prob both need reversing

                            Make sense lol
