Thanks Stuart, yeah that is one of the priorities is to find all my flying gear again :?

The second priority is to sort out some sort of temporary workshop until I can build something more permanant, the garage roof needs replacing first though !!

      Take care and happy flying

      Cheers,

      Pete.

          Hi all,

I've moved well sort of anyway, there are boxes everywhere, Im not sure where allot of things are and I havent got my broadband connection in yet, I have been quoted a date of 15/4 for that, so in the mean time Ive got a standard dial up connection to the web, it does mean I cant get to my email any other way than to look at it online though

Ive been in this house just about a week now and Ive already boarded, moved a support beam and installed lighting in the loft, moved the bedroom door over by 550mm and moved the switch and rewired the bedroom light.

As soon as I can find the charger for my digital camera I'll put some pic's in my gallery, that is if the dial up connection can handle the upload :?

Hows everyone doing? have you all been doing much flying?

          Cheers,

          Pete.

            Hi Pete.

Glad to hear you are getting sorted and hope everything turns out well for you.It is a pity that I live so far away, perhaps I could have returned some help to you in your move, in appreciation to that you have freely given to me in the past in these columns.I had a very good fly last Sunday even though having a bad attack of the shakes due to rust, but the weather at our field was almost shirtsleeves warm with just a light breeze and as I was the only helli punter there,I had a flying patch and frequency all to myself.I suppose that is one of the good points in belonging to a club that is plank orientated.I followed that up on Monday by taking a nephew to the field who is learning fixed wing, and found that flying helicopters has made me a bit scornful of the ease in which planks fly, so I must be catching that cleverhelliboybug that I used to condem so much in the past.I am not going to prattle on any more about flying Pete, as I feel it will rub you up the wrong way when your life at this time is bricks and mortar, but I do not think it will be long before once again you grace these columns with your own flying experiences.Let us have some pics of this new house of yours, I am interested to see if there is room for that helli patch in the garden.

            CHEERS.
            MO.

              Hi Mo,

Yeap, Im slowly getting sorted, athough I have been playing the game of "Where the hell did that go" or "Which box did that go in" :?

I am glad you have done some flying and are enjoying it, you're right, I am getting a bit tired of moving furnature and boxes around the place, Ive already had to move the bedroom door over by 550mm to accomodate wardrobes being put against one wall which also meant I had to move the light switch which in turn lead to my having to rewire the bedroom light and so on.

One of the good things about living alone is that I get to choose what happens and when, which means that the next thing on my priorities list is to locate and recall all my heli gear from various places and just shut the door on the house and go for a fly instead.

I was hoping to do just that this weekend but alas the great british weather had other ideas so for the last couple of days I havent done much at all, no unpacking no sorting out nothing 8)

The house I have bought is quite unlike my previous one, the previous one was a fairly new 6 year old 5 bedroom detached house with a reasonable garden, being just large enough for a hover with the IC helis and smallish curcuits and some inverted hovering about with the hornet.

This new house is a mid sixties built 3 bed semi in need of a reasonable amount of renovation as it needs new electrics, a new kitchen, new central heating and on the back of the garage is a so called sun room which fills the gap between the back of the garage and comes out parallel with the back wall of the house. This needs stripping right back to the block work and rebuilding, as the roof on the garage is corrigated metal and slopes downwards towards the back of the house and also has a lash up of conservatory type corrigated clear plastic panels covering the passage way between the house and garage and the same again on the sunroom itself, the whole lot needs ripping off and replacing with a proper pitched and tilled roof. I also intend to knock a doorway through from the hall to the passage and convert it into a cloakroom at the front and a laundry area at the back which will be accessed via the sun room.

The garden isnt that great a size but has the benefit of not being overlooked from any direction, it is just possible to hover an IC heli but it is more suited to the little electric hornet.

As you may have guessed, this house for me is an investment opportunity more so than a long term home, I bought it primarily as it was owned by a well known house builder who took it in part exchange on one of their new houses a while back and has been empty for a few months, what with that and the amount of work needing to be done I was able to negotiate a very good deal, so as I only have myself to please I thought it a worth while investment.

I doubt much work will be done on it this year though as I promised myself that I would do quite allot of flying and get around to some fly-ins around the country this season, so that comes first.

I will post some pictures in my gallary as soon as I get my adsl sorted and I have found all the bits for my digi camera.

              Cheers,

              Pete.
