  • Batteries and packing

OK, the time is nearly here to pack my helicopters. The Trex is going in it's alluminium case with the TX. The Raptor is having it's blades, head and tail boom removed and packed in a box.

    Any advise?

Also, should I charge the batteries to full? They will be in a container for up to 8 weeks. It will be going down the west coast of Africa, but think the temp will remain pretty constant.

    What do you think?

Leave the LiPo packs around half charged. That way, if they get cold en-route, they won't go into an over-charged state from being fully charged.

    Good luck!

Make sure you use some after-run in your Raptor engine before you pack it, then fill it with a good quality synthetic oil. You will need to fush it out with fresh fuel before you use it. If any nitro is present in the crank case, it will pit the surface of any alloy parts.
