  • Blowing glo plugs more than...

... can't think of anything non-rude to end that on.

Last week, my remote glow plug snapped off, so I got a new one off ebay. I fitted it this morning, and it worked. Flew about 5 tanks. Then when trying to start the helicopter, it wouldn't start. Found that the plug was blown.

    Fair enough, replaced it.

Flew another 4 flight, and the new one blew!

What could be causing this? Dodgy remote lead? Engine too rich/lean? (first flights with the MP5)?

    Oh, help...

I've been using.... OH WAIT! Lemme think.
I usually use my rechargable glow starter... but today, I used another guys... but I think I only switched to his after we thought mine was faulty. So I think I was using my little HPI rehargable one, and the second time it blew, was with a mates.

          haha!
I have a bottle that I need to burn off... They won't accept it in the container on Tuesday, so I need to burn that fuel! About 2 tanks to go.
My last flight at the field was AMAZING! I was flying alone, and managed a few 'heli on it's side' turns! Was great! Got the blades biting the air, and making that thumping sound in sharp turns. Was AMZING!!!!! Giot nose in once, and never realised... When I did, the tail shot around to tail in. Bum got a bight tight too!

thought it might have been a voltage problem if you were using a flight box. saw a guy blow one yesterday faster than he could say oh shi.... pop one blown plug.
only other thing i can think of would be running too lean

              Hi Craig

Good luck with the move and all.

BTW, burning plugs could be too high a voltage on the griver, or too rich a fuel mixture...

              Cheers

Too rich or too lean? I noticed a LOT of smoke.. but I hear the MP5 makes more smoke. So we leaned it 4 clicks...
