  • thinking of change the side of tail rotor - HELP PLEASE

HI all firstly i would like to say hello this is my first post on here and i am just getting into rc helicopters and i am having a go at building a seaking and i have come across a bit of a problem.
i will need to change the side of the rear tail rotor (if you was looking from the back) from the right side to the left side like the real thing. i have already guessed that this will mean that the main rotor blades will have to be changed maybe? lol, also will i need to change motor drive from clockwise to anti clockwise maybe soildering reverse palarity? . Thats as far has i have figured it out so far,

helicopter being used : twister cp

    please help

could you please explane what i need to do with it

    many thanks to you all

If your using a 3 wire brushless motor then just change round two of the wires to get it to spin the other way, shop around on various sites as you may find what your looking for regarding the tail, is it not possible to spin the boom round? As it'll be in a fuzz it wont matter that its upside down, dont forget to reverse your servo as I think it would turn right if you input left etc but this im not sure on as I have never turned a boom

Edit: I think Yanks generally have a rotor on the left of the tail, see if you can find what your after on a USA site/ebay etc

NO, you can't have a go

As far as i'm aware you can't just go changing the direction of your rotors as you'll have blade control issue's changing from trailing egde to leading egde maybe wrong but may be worth asking the same question in the scale room , oh and welcome to the site

i'm not to up on the twister tail rotor system
but with a tt or belt driven tail the box can be flipped
a belt drive is better as you can just twist the belt the other direction to keep the tail rotor spinning the correct way
but you can run a tail backwards to its normal direction but you do lose some tail authority, with a vario tail box you just fit the output gear the other side of the shaft

        back to the twister
if the tail rotor blade is a fixed shape blade you wiill need to find a diferent blade to use if you flip the tail box
if its like a conventional heli tail blade set up then it will be ok, just swop the wires as already stated
