Hey man I dont no u but you have been gud enough to reply to posts and help, dont even beat urself up, u dont the rite thing, nefing cud have happened..believe me i stopped a shop lifter were I used to work, lets jus say wish i hadnt he tried to stab me in the stomach wi big pair of hardware siccsors that he had hidden down his trousers, luckly enuf i was alert and quick enuf to move, so he missed me by milimetres.. Scared the complete crap out of me, and I used to be a boxer and trainned self defence which did help me...but still is a very very big risk. So count urself lucky u didnt approach them, cause anything could have happend to ur health mate or worse. What goes around comes around.

Take care and dont beat urself up, aint ur fault or ne1s xcept the thieves

As others have said, Its not your fault. TBH whoever left there heli in public veiw and unattended was asking for it.

Luckily both feilds i use are not so open to public, and pits at the car boot so highly unlikely somebody could steal from us there.

I have a spare K3D airframe i cant seem to shift... so if the guy who lost the heli wants to pay postage ill take the boom off and post it

I don't think the heli was left in public

sorry to hear about the loss of equipment and the pressure it has put members under coz of it
but just a thought, if the place you have your cups of tea - coffee, etc was moved to the other side of the shed where the heli was taken from, so anyone else thinking of helping there selfs in furtre would have to walk passed the tea room (shed, tent) to get to the heli's might be a idea (i dont know if that doable as i dont know the setup there)

Martin you did the right thing, the police are there for things like that, the git's could have stabbed you or worse, the equipment costs money, but that is all it is, putting your life at risk, by taking on the thieves is just not worth it.

Your a respected member on here, your knowledge & experience would be missed if you decided to leave. So for the sake of the hobby stay around.

Martin, you're actions were sensible and correct. Too many idiots out there with knives, and nothing else better to do. As for some of the comments, well I'm not going to comment, suffice to say that most of us sensible chaps here would sincerely miss your presence and knowledge. Review and rethink please...........
