I have a 700n and i dont have a governer installed simply coz i have dx6i .And i wanted to know if its worth getting a governer.I currently enjoy my flights but when i do fast rolls i notice that the blades bog a little. let me know if you have noticed any difference between flying with ot without a gov..thanks

Mix the throttle to aileron as well as to the elevator.

Think there is a Finless Vid on Helifreak too.

My flying involves loops/flips/rolls etc. rather than proper 3D (also with a 700N) and I did notice that when I started using a governor, the head speed was a bit more consistent so I'd say yes, there is some benefit. However, if you can't use a governor then as stated above, using throttle mixes will probably help.

I personally prefer a limiter to a governor - seem to get a more consistant hs with my throttle jockey.

However I have seen some pretty serious 3d done with just mixes, so interested to hear about this. If anyone could give an idea of settings that would be great?

                I use multigov pro's on my 600 and 700 i think thay
work realy well you can add remove throttle responce
in a mix to cyclic but i feel that unless you real know how
to set this up i would stick with a gov to keep motor speed
                constant

Unless you are loading the head up with heavy collective there is no need for a gov until that time.

If memory serves me correct Ade Law never used a gov for a long time flying 3D and he did quite well without one.

I'm pretty sure Stephan Simmons and Squeaky Pete have also done 3D comps without governors.

Thanks to all I'm going to go without a gov for now and setting up the mixs so my rolls will be abit better any advice on setting it up on a dx6 will be helpful. I tried doing it earlier but couldn't get reponse from the throttle servo while aileron servo moved, but il try again after work

Do you need a governor? No.

Do you want a governor? Well that's up to you my friend.

I 'want' governors or limiters on all my helis.

I also have cyclic to throttle mixing and rudder to throttle mixing on my helis as well.

                          Tweak the curves a bit

No need for a gov, I don't run one either

Well, That's a lie.. I'm using the Vbar one at the moment. (BETA)

Yes that is definitely true. You don't NEED one but I did definitely notice a difference in the heli's ability to maintain headspeed even in just 'sport' flight so it made a positive difference for me.
