• Need an electrical wizard

Well after my servo failure earlier I've been searching for a replacement and I can't seem to find one the same as I already have, I also can't really afford to buy 3 more with putting the 500 'on the road' so I'm looking for a genius to try and have a looksy at it.

When I stripped it there was no power to it but when I took all the gears out and fiddled a bit it started working (motor pinion spinning constantly) so I refitted the gears and its not working again, would love to get it sorted as they are great servo's to fly on cyclics.

Can anyone help?
Nik.

Servo problem

Nik
It could be the windings in the motor have gone down there is enough left to run the motor off load but when the gears are connected there is not enough power in the motor to run the servo.
If you can't find a new motor it will have to be a new servo. maybe someone may have a servo with a working motor and knackered gears you could trade?

You could try Mike Ridley at the Model Radio Workshop ?

Pretty sure that if it can be fixed, Mike will do it.

Try looking at the connection to the pc board. It could be intermittent. Just remake the connection and support the wire by glueing it to the board with some silicone.

sounds like the pot may be intermittent, if you put force on the pot with it all taken to pieces can you stop it working?

My concern with repairing it is that if it fails again it could easily cost getting on for replacing all 3 servos now in parts. If we were talking full size brushless servos then i would suggest sending it off to somebody to repair it but I doubt it would be economical in this case.

Dont really wanna buy 3 servos as its for the blade, if it was the 500 then maybe.

New servo ordered for the not so bad sum of £13.36 just gotta hope its Germany and not HK that it comes from, I'm not gonna bother with repairing the old servo so have stripped it for the gear set, many thanks to those that offered their services just a shame that on this occasion I won't be able to rant about how great you are for fixing it.
