Took my B400 out today after days of wind and set it up for a good old fashioned beating, did all usual pre flight checks and checked everything was working fine then fired her up.
I was hovering for a couple of minutes whilst I trimmed her out after a rebuild and had just got it level when the tail pitched down and dived toward the floor, I was only 6 or so feet off the floor so killed the power and it landed upright with the only visible damage a tail rotor - will check tail output shaft etc later - replaced the tail rotor and re checked all the servo's etc to find my elev servo not working, stripped it down to see which gear was naffed to find all of them in one piece and its actually receiving no power, tried it in another port on rx to double check and same thing, I have never had a servo just die in flight before is this a common thing?
Only good thing to come out of this is I had my 500 with me (non flying) to show a mate and i'm glad that it wasnt that in the air and I sold me msr, yay.
£70 better off, well £67 and change after paypal fees but bonus none the less as now I can get my bits to finish the 500
Might consider selling the Blade now because I honestly cant be bothered with it but depending on if I can get what I need for the 500 it will either be BNF but needing a front servo or it will be BNF but needing front servo and tail servo, would this be considered artf?
Edit: Blade specs, CF mains, Ino-Lab hgd202hb on cyclics, GY401, S9257, Ar6100e, lipo alarm wired in to esc.
