    would a scorpion 1100kv motor be to much for a trex 500?

            it wouldnt be overkill, the original align is 1250 i think

                No, the 1900 has more. If in doubt go for the 1400 or 1600kv. I just liked the idea of having a higher kv engine so the power was there when I wanted it & I didn't overwork it when I didn't.

                You'll now start scratching your head regarding pinion choice to engine size. Please feel free to step in Ashley. It's been a while...

                  Although the Kv is important because of the gear ratio of the model you also need to take into account the wattage of the motor.

                  If you are thinking for instance of the Scorpion 4025-1100 or even the 4020-1100 motor then I would say that is way too much power for a T-Rex 500.

                  If you find the spec of the original T-Rex 500 motor and then look here http://www.scorpionsystem.com/catalog/motors/ you will get an idea of which motors may or may not be right.

                    If still looking, I do believe it's the HK3026 range you want to focus on for the T500.
