At last I have recieved a reply from Parcel Force regarding my claims for compensation.

As expected is is a template apology letter (I'll spare you the boring bits) offering me a 25% refund and a cheque for £3.34.

So Here's my reply...

Dear Amanda

Thank you very much for your swift response to my letter dated 9th Feb. Just 5 weeks turnaround? I can only assume that bearing in mind the diabolical service Parcelforce provide you must be inundated with complaints and requests for compensation and I am impressed that you could reach a settlemet so quickly.

I understand that your department must be extremely busy but unforunatly in your haste you have made an error on the payment amount as it reads £3.34, I presume you meant £334.00.
I regret to say that this amount is still be £561.00 short of the £895.31 that I am claiming and am uncertain how you would like to proceed. I have opted to return the cheque rather than deposit it and wait for a second one for the balance as it would cost me £4.00 in fuel to drive to my bank and that would just add more money to my claim.

As I stated in my first letter I will have to charge £15.00 for any further correspondence so the new amount is now £910.35.

Just to say I used the "millerman" service for the 1st time today..

Contacted him about 11am about a parcel to be picked up from Winchester and delivered to Harlow..

He emailed me a collection/address label

It was collected at 14:10..for del tomorrow..

Cheaper than PO/Parcel force by some margin..

I do not send many parcels...but it is good bye PO
