  • next step up advise please

I am flying a blade 120 SR at the mo, i want to step up what shall i buy i have a DX6I and budget of about £200.

my opinion, as i have just done that step is a 450 SE, belt driven tail, training gear and loads of spares. Your budget should see you good for a decent used one, but if there is one piece of advice you should take on board is, no matter how good the heli is, if it's not setup by someone that DOES know what they're doing then its a waste of money.
I was very lucky that I did, as my heli was un-flyable in the standard form.Once setup i could attempt to fly it properly.
Yes i crash, but spares are cheap and easily available, hell i got soooo many for £50 i could probably build another one. Just look for bargains!

I take it you've already got Phoenix? If not, why not? and that should be your next step

Other than that, I agree a Trex 450 would be a good next step

            That's a shame
But each to their own, and perhaps you will be one of the few naturally talented enough to fly a cp heli without sim training Its certainly possible to do, but it is likely to cost more when the inevitable mistakes are made.

Oh, and I still think a 450 is a good next step

The 450 is a nice little heli, not had a lot of flights on mine yet but hoping to put that right tomorrow . As for the Sim, i don't use mine either, i get bored after 5 minutes and turn it off. It just takes me a wee bit longer to get the hang of new things without it. Oh and I have only had 3 crashes and 2 of them were mechanical.

The 450 Sport is a nice inexpensive learning machine for the money you are wanting to spend. The 500 is better, but more costly to buy and run.
