  • Anyone interested in film work?

Hey there folks! My name's Chris, I'm a filmmaker, working in commercials, documentaries, live events and music promos mostly, and I'm looking for brilliant RC pilots, preferably living around London, who'd be interested in working with me to provide aerial video coverage for my projects, using DSLR cameras, on a freelance basis, whereby you would pilot and I would remote operate the camera, in a similar fashion to this system using a T-Rex 700E, Photoship one and a teradek cube: [ame=http://vimeo.com/18978385]Teradek Cube Streaming HD Video from a RC Helicopter on Vimeo[/ame]
If you don't already have a rig suitable, I am prepared to fund a build.

If you'd like to know more, please email me at chris@midnightcrow.co.uk

    Thanks for your time!

    Nik.

    Before you ask:

    About 2 miles
    Over £500
    Very difficult
    Over 80mph
NO, you can't have a go

Don't forget the 'Search' and 'Thanks' buttons.

Sorry for offending you. If you read my post again you'll find that:

      - I am a cameraman, so I don't need to employ one. I am not, however, an RC heli pilot so I am looking for someone who is an expert at such things as I'm not big headed enough to think I can do that myself.
      - I am offering a paid position
      - I am prepared to buy kit for someone to use

If this offends enthusiasts on this forum, I shall look elsewhere

That's harsh and unfair. He never pretended to be anything other than what he is and this is a natural place to search for contacts.

I am really surprised nobody has replied to him.

That kind of blew the forum rep of being a friendly place right out the window

If i felt i was a better pilot & lived near london i would jump at the chance to do a job that involves my hobby. I'm sure whoever you find for this position will find it very rewarding.

He has probably took his offer elsewhere, not that I blame him with that welcome.

Welcome - please be mindful that in Jan the CAA changed the regulations and as such you need to become aware of the regulations.

                      UAV's

Unmanned Aircraft | Types of Operation | Safety Regulation

Now it doesn't mean that you can't do this work or require a pilots licence as such but you do need to jump through some hoops especially if working in congested areas and close to people and building as well as within controlled airspace.

Each country is different and you might be wanting to do work outside the UK and I suspect other countries will be less regulatory than the UK - but worthwhile double checking in every country you work.

Welcome Midnightcrow i wish i could hover smooth enough and long enough to do the kind of work you require. There are plenty of pilots close to and in the london area which fit your needs. I hope you find what you are looking for.
